^^^Tell craiglist about this (latest) scam. Savvy==know or be aware of facts :peace:

Sometimes with these scams the opening email is buying for the person about to go O/S....then they are going to Nigeria or worse. They sometimes offer more than the asking price Rarely a genuine deal :tears:

It means to know how Craigslist works very well.

To be aware of how many scammers their are on that site.

It's defiantly a scam.

One of the reasons I never lis there any more. My mailbox fills up with scams like this right away.

decaljunkie 09-10-2009 07:47 PM

thanks for the tip. it kinda sounded fishy.

Well, think about it -

The alleged buyer claims to own a private company, is sending a son overseas, is shopping on craigslist for equipment, and wants to overpay.

Overpaying is bad business sense, so it implies that perhaps the part about owning a private business can't be possible due to stupidity and fiscal mismanagement.

Also, if someone is buying gear to be used overseas and the gear MUST be relied upon for continued trouble-free performance of critical matters - who'd take a chance on craigslist goods? Think for a moment. If you were putting the future of your company on a computer that is being sent out of country... would you attempt to buy it via craigslist and would you offer to pay more than double what the seller was asking?

If you could convince that buyer to send you good old U.S. Ca$H moola in the mail (no checks, MO, WU, PP, CC, GC), I'd say you've got a real customer. Otherwise, all I can say is that I wish I had me a bale of whatever it is they be smokin'.

:tears: Mamma's not sending me a new laptop? Ratsz :pout:
