It's good to be back, sure. But I'm wondering who had it better while I was away (me or you all)?
I mean the upside for me was learning what 5 of the buttons on my touch tone phone do (I'll call somebody else when I figure out the other 7 buttons - until then, Philly and TGMT are my newest best buddies not counting Yoz).
I emptied my ashtray for the first time this decade. It's kinda liberating, you know? I usually try to remember to do it the day before the next decade begins. But this time, I got a head start, so it's like 3 extra months before I'll have to do it next time. How cool is that?
I found my virginity (FWIW). It doesn't appear to be good for anything, but I think I'm glad I still have one. IF and when that ever changes, I'll tell every one of you all the details so you can decide if keeping yours is still a good idea. For now, I'm guessing you should leave this experiment to the professionals.
Did you guys know they actually make machines that get the gunk out of your clothes and they have a name for the action of doing it? It's called a washing machine, doing it is called doing the wash, and whether it's still gunky or all degunked somebody was cool enough to call the pile 'laundry' just so we don't get confused. Extra credit to any of you who discover 'detergent' before I tell you about *THAT*. I won't pretend that I really figured the whole thing out for myself. Truth is, Philly discovered it while we were BS'ing on the phone. If the timing had been off, I think I still wouldn't have had a clue, you can bet he would have been selfish about the info or maybe tried to charge me for it.
It seems somebody invented a few food groups. I thought I was happy with the regular 4 food groups (coffee, beer, cigarettes, and everything that isn't one of the first 3 or maybe more aptly anything that doesn't run faster than me even when I'm lazy). But adding groups like 'chips', 'chocolate', and 'ramens' was absolutely brilliant. Makes me wonder why nobody ever thought of it before. And glad somebody else got around to it before I was bored enough to have to do it for myself. The names I might have made up probably wouldn't have been the right ones. I mean, what are the odds of me picking ramens chips and chocolate... Just a guess, but crunchy soup, flatatoes, and poop sound more like the way my brain works. And that just ain't right.
Neat find: milk doesn't stay a liquid just because you screw the cap on tight. Sometime before last week but after Feb 2003, it actually turned into pebbly powder. At least the jug I bought myself for xmas 2002 did (YMMV). And I *KNOW* I screwed it on tight back then because it took me most of a day to get the sucker off. Why you should leave that cap on tight when the milk is pebbly will remain my little secret. ¥HINT¥ :: some pebbles have learned how to walk and they apparently can't afford right guard or degree
I don't want to tell it all in just one post. I'll save some stuff for a slow day around here.
Hi, Lyda. Missed you.
