| | | walkingupwards | 07-14-2020 10:12 AM | Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. I have an order on Alibaba and I decided to pay for it via Wire-Transfer at a local branch. So I clicked on "View Account Information" and got the bank details where I need to send the money.
I was at the bank yesterday and gave the clerk 5000$ in cash and a wire-transfer was done.
Has anyone here paid this way before? |
| walkingupwards | 07-14-2020 05:45 PM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. It was a SEPA transfer (within the EU) and they charged me 15 Euros for it.
I've always paid with PayPal or MasterCard, but this time I wanted to give Wire-Transfer a try.
The bank account I sent the money to belongs to Alibaba btw and not the supplier. |

| usa144 | 08-15-2020 08:08 PM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. I normally pay with credit card, I just find it more convienient. |
| walkingupwards | 08-15-2020 08:14 PM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. Have already sent many payments by Wire-Transfer, they are actually cheaper and only take 2-3 days to be completed. |
| aspkin | 08-16-2020 07:27 AM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. You must really trust your supplier to send wire-transfer.
I had a supplier who I worked with for years and out of the blue try to scam me after a wire-transfer was sent. He didn't deliver the product.
It was a short sighted attempt as I was his biggest buyer and he nearly lost me until he offered substantial discounts to gain my trust again. |
| agent006140 | 08-16-2020 02:08 PM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. yes, bank wiretransfer is the best way to accept money for the vendor.
I deal with foreign vendors,if they have gone under,I would not know. |
| walkingupwards | 08-16-2020 06:36 PM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. I actually send the money to an Alibaba's account IBAN, the supplier can then "match" the payment and mark the order as paid. This is covered by Alibaba Trade Assurance. |

| Etycoon | 08-19-2020 06:46 PM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. I do bank transfer all the time if the supplier is signed up to trade assurance, just make sure you use the bank details attached to their Alibaba account. |

Would love a 6% cashback credit card.
I used to make a lot of money through cashback with my Tesco cc back in the day, not so much anymore. |
| prodigyace | 08-20-2020 10:49 AM | Re: Paying Alibaba suppliers via Bank-Transfer. Sorry, I should have been more clear! When I said I use my credit card, I get 1-2% cashback, then I use a cashback site called givingassistant to get the 6% extra cash back. This way, I cover the credit card fees on Alibaba and still get my 6% cashback.
Use their plugin, the sites link seems to give me a lot of issues and I have to keep following up with them to see what's going on
Remove it if it's not allowed, but my referral link can get both of us $5 if you sign up. I wouldn't recommend them if they weren't good. https://givingassistant.org/?rid=Dm6HMlDO9A |
