Default Anybody here used Blackbery to tether???

well it seems wireless providers are cracking down on people using blackberry's to tether without a phone-as-modem plan. Sprint finally caught up and did it, and now i dont have a way to get new ip's.. Is anyone else in the same boat as i am?? resetting my modem 5-6 times a day seems quite time consuming... any advice is well appreciated as always.....

Get a router to change your ip's. So much easier than turning your modem on and off.

yeah i do have a router, but changing ip's with the BB was soo much easier... and plus it eliminated the chance of "forgetting" to change the ip b4 logging in

It is really easy with a Linksys router. It takes about 10 seconds. :D

ok i have a linksys, maybe im juss doing extra steps here but here goes:

1. once logging in, i click on mac adress clone, change a number/letter
2. click on status, click dhcp release
3. unplug modem + router for about a minute
4. plug back in, click dhcp renew
5. wait a few minutes for things to get back to normal/obtain new ip etc

is there a shorter way?? or is the norm here??

I just click Status, and click disconnect, wait 10 seconds and click connect. I don't have a DCHP release or DCHP renew button. I must have mine set up different. I use PPPoE if that makes a difference.
