how does one say NO

How does one say no kindly, I have more than enough to cope with but whenever my elderly neighbour sees me in the garden over the wall, she wants to talk, ok, sometimes thats fine, but she always steers conversation to something she needs doing, and pauses to wait for me to say I will help...
so at the weekend, I picked her bloody pears for her, and she gave me some, ooh how generous (they were nice though)...she doesnt drive, Ive taken her places...shes got 3 sons, I see one of them sometimes and he doesnt live far, shes his problem, or maybe she should hire someone to help her..she has plenty of money Im sure....

anyway, talk to me..ways to murder, will be sniggered at but ignored...

Shovel...Fertilizer...Chloroform

Sounds like a question for Miss Manners or Dear Abby.

Ask your neighbor for socially ridiculous but mundane favors, like picking up your dry cleaning or getting a quart of milk for you.

I'm positive after a week of running errands for you, she will get the idea and probably cut you out of her life for trying to turn her into your slave. ;)

Well I guess if u used to shovel first, then you wouldn't need the chloroform.

Maybe she will leave u in her will as a thank you for helping her, not for the shovel.

Perfectly equitable solution....mini-me with a dirty diaper:cheer:
Stand in the lounge-room, when you see the old bat & know that mini-me has aforementioned diaper, race out & hand her the baby, screaming you have to do something....go back into t'house. Wait 5 mins, then come back out. Reclaim mini-me. Repeat, rinse, repeat (as vicvelcro says)....sorted. Yah! For mini-me!:cheer:
