my friend's package being destroyed by UPS

hi guys
my friend ordered some items from china and the seller shipped by ups. The package made it to the US and went to a few warehouses, and after a few days the tracking number shows the item is "undeliverable" and it's being disposed of.

Now he is worried that the police will raid his house or he will get prosecuted. I told him if anyone comes after him he should just say I didn't order these. Are his concerns valid? are they just going to steal the package and that will be the end of it? or they will prosecute him?

Also, he said the seller has offered to replace. I told him his address is probably blacklisted and any further packages will be highly scrutinized. is that true? What if the seller uses EMS or DHL?

Welcome to the forum OP - all the best as you master stealth :thumb:

Have your friend come and discuss on the forum. How large was the order? What kind of items?

It sounds like you and your friend knows that you ordered something illegal, why would the police raid your house over a disposed and undeliverable item that was completely legal? Sounds kinda strange to me

he is not computer literate and wouldn't know how to use a forum. it was $3800 worth of brand name handbags.

Surely his one of many ordering xxx goods...they'll destroy it and leave it be. If his constantly ordering such goods maybe they'll go after him

C'mon, it's you isn't it, we're all anonymous here. Not computer literate but knows how to import thousands of dollars of counterfeit bags and how to re-sell them but not use a forum...pull the other one. :)

In any event, if you've used your real name and real address then yes, there is a chance that you could be contacted, visited, prosecuted even raided. It goes with the territory.....and why most slick dodgy sellers have accommodation addresses for their phake identities.

What's done is done, nobody here can tell you what might happen next. They might do nothing at all. Time will tell.

if it is just handbags I guess your friend could just play dumb , before doing so he would probably need to do some cleaning in his house

I understand why you would think it's me because everybody who's done something wrong says "my friend" and I can't say I am not guilty of that. But this time it's not me.

He is computer illiterate in the sense that he doesn't know how to 1) find forums related to the topic that he wants to ask questions on 2) register an account and ask his question. His English is also poor. He is also secretive and won't tell me about his business dealings. The only reason I found out is because he was freaking out and needed a translator for the tracking number so he was forced to tell me what he ordered and how much.

He is not a big time seller the way you purport. $3800 of brand hand bags probably translates to 20 bags. That's his supply for one year. He has a job that barely covers the bills and with inflation he needs to do this on the side.

if you're going to say "ya nice story bro" I don't have any other way to convince you it's not me.

I am just curious, how do you get your package sent to a different address? as far as I know, all mailbox places require 2 forms of ID and they will give you up upon a suponea.

It’s definitely him and he’s so afraid to say it’s actually him..

There’s so many stories of “my friend” when people are asking questions about when they have done something wrong

Just try a different address that’s all I can suggest if you think your address is blacklisted

Re: my friend's package being destroyed by UPS

The problem is your 'friend' is importing counterfeit handbags.
it does not matter what address he uses.

Re: my friend's package being destroyed by UPS

$3800 is not a huge volume but if there is repeat activity...could be problematic.

Re: my friend's package being destroyed by UPS

Chinese seller said he will ship him another batch FREE,which tells me he is paying too much for these ⊗⊗⊗⊗ designer handbags.
And if this new shipment is destroyed by carrier or confiscated by Customs,he will lose his $3800 and get a black eye from carrier/US customs.
