Customs and Canada Post are all slow before christmas?
 

hey everyone

I have two parcels which were sent out from China to Canada on Nov,20.

It only took 2 days to arrive Canada

One parcel has been released by customs ,but it is still in Vancouver. as I know it usually takes 1 to 2 days from BC to ON

One parcel has not been released by customs for five days.

It never happened before.

someone told me that it is all because Canada Post and Customs are very busy before Christmas!!!!
Please advise!!!

It's pretty common for customs to hold shipments from china, I had 2 packages held for 2 weeks once and finally recieved it with the green inspection tape on it. They do random checks, you'll probably get it in another week unless it's something that's prohibited in Canada.

Cargo incoming to North America has had delays after landing. Customs in both USA & Canada have a backlog of clearing items. I have x3 parcels not cleared at the moment. :tears:

OK. Maybe I will receive my items in the next week. well they are brand-name shoes and only five inside.

Can I say that these shoes are gifts and I will not resell them

I know someone else here had 6 brand name shoes held up and he finally got them in I think a couple weeks, you should be fine just have to keep waiting.

Canadapost is pretty fast. If your supplier ships from hongkong ems then you will get the item in less than a week. But usually when the item is coming from china it takes more than 6 days. I never had an item inspected before even though I had 2 packages com in last week which were more than 15kg's.

do you think I need to change my receiving address in the future?!

My curret address is a P.O Box.

I am not sure since I never had a package seized before. I am not sure if canadapost keep a record if the item has been seized. But, I suggest for the safety of your items you should ship to a different address. Your address has probably been flagged.

Hey I checked my item today through Canada Post

" international item has left Canada"

so I think Customs returned the item to China.


I do not think CanadaPost will keep a record but maybe Customs will keep my address.

So I have to change to another address !!!???!!

Unless you plan on doing heavy volume I would not be concerned about it. Sometimes the shipper fills out the form incorrectly and customs has to return it.
