IT layoff

MSFT,GOOG,AMZN,TWTR,CRM,ORCL and more-
Do you know anyone who gets the pinkslip and how is he coping?
Just read a human resources manager filled out 2000 applications and heard nothing, she is 44 years old.
Remind me of 2008 financial meltdown,Wall Street firms blew up and headhunters are not answering the phone.
If you want someone to read your resume, you have to find a way to hand deliver your resume to him.

It's best to be multi-talented. No use being good at just one thing if your industry takes a sharp turn.

Apparently the rest of the US job market has grown and only the tech industry is being affected. It may be because during the pandemic there was a larger demand for pcs and online services which has slowed down with things getting back to normal.

it's tough for the IT jobs at the moment - those laid off might be lucky to find work based on whom they know...networking...

It was easy at first (2022) most find jobs within 3 months, but in 2023 ,it could take longer and there could be paycut as well.

Probably not easy in 2022 but certainly better in 2021 feels like

It depends, newly graduates with shallow experience could be a dime a dozen, those who have depth and years of experience usually spend years in one industry which may not be transferrable to another industry
