Camera Lens Help!

I am going on a vacation soon and I am going to buy a lens and adapter for my camera. I have a cannon a590 IS and it has the option to add lenses on it. I am completely new and I know nothing about cameras. I was going to buy a kit on ebay but I there were so many types that I could not decide. I do not want something overly expensive since I am not going to use it often. The maximum price I am willing to pay is $60. I heard that you have to get a lens adapter and some other stuff. Someone please guide me.

Hm, usually you want the lens to be as expensive as you can afford because the quality of the lens is what gives you better quality pictures.

If I were you I'd find a forum where people with your camera hang out for more specific information. :)

A cannon is too big for $60 for a lens & adapter  It's a gun.

Seriously, yoz, spend the $60 on the family, buy films, put gas in the vehicle. Your Canon camera will have more than enough if you are a learner. It comes with x4 optical zoom lens facility. That means it already acts like it has a 35 x140mm lens on it. You use this in manual mode.(Read the instructions).
Problem with adding an adapter & lens if that you see that awesome shot, fiddle about to get adapter & lens out of the bag, drop one or both, fit them & the shot has gone. Whereas if you just use this neat little camera it's aim, click, capture. Simples :cheer:

Starting out in photography you do the simple easy way. Do a couple of vacations B4 you even think of upgrading. Trust me, your first few rolls will be heads or legs only. Takes practise to get the idea of making photos good enough to download immediately to the computer:canada:

Hmm...Thanks GB...I decided not to get the lens. It's too complex for such a little camera and me.

The camera has the ability to do what the added-on lenses would do. With this model it would be an overkill. The delight of this camera is the ease with which it can be used. I do a lot of photography but this model is tops for features & price.

Shall look forward to photos, yes? :cheer:
