Anyone selling on Facebook?

Hello,

Is Anyone selling on Facebook?

You know how Facebook has it's own marketplace now, so you can list products on the Facebook app and buyers can contact you if they are interested.

Do you only get sales if you have a large following on your Facebook page?

Can anyone share their experiences?

Thanks.

selling on facebook has nothing to do with large following or friends if you sell on marketplace.

I have sold stuff here and there - it's nice but I did local sales to avoid dealing with shipping etc

local sales, where do you get your tracking OR you just accept cash only.
Once someone sold a TV set to a local buyer, delivered the TV set himself, shook hands and took picture.
the buyer filed INR and won!
One bar owner ordered 7 bar stools on Ebay, found them not fitting with his bar,so he asked for return and EbAY gave him one shipping label,he make 7 copies and slapped the same label on 7 boxes .
USPS rejected six and delivered one to the seller with tracking,Ebay refunded $$ of all seven stools.
A toy truck collector bought an expensive antique truck from a seller on Ebay who is also a collector,he decided to return the item so they met halfway in a coffee shop, discussed their hobbies and came home,no refund >why?
Because there is no tracking to prove he has returned the item.

I have seen sellers at Trade shows, accepting Paypal.
Local plumbers, masseurs and barbers, wedding organiser accept Paypal with bad consequences.

it's different than eb since buyer can't file INR etc - they pay cash and get item on pickup

Do you know at one time Canadian auto buyer and US seller will meet at the parking lot of a US bank on a Saturday at the US/Canada border, once buyer is happy with the car, they just go inside the bank to complete the transaction.
Are cigarettes cheaper in Canada?

Yes I have seen that too - those service providers accepting Paypal can be burned by the "wrong" buyer...

I never do meetups in this crazy World. I ship everything. Do they pay in advance, or only when you meet up with them?

In some Facebook markets, I mean countries, I have been able to see that really if you do not have a product that is very necessary for the buyer, you will always have to pay advertising fees to be able to sell relatively well.
The other thing is to meet some people for the delivery, in some places it is really dangerous

FB Shops & marketplace sales were good for a while but now traffic crashed

Seems like local traffic is still good but you need to push items for pickup

Isn't it for local sales with people picking items up in person? Don't like the idea of that

some items are suitable for local pickup,as the buyer can examine the item and haul it home, like furniture, machine, auto parts.
Some just want to see what else do you have?like a collection?

Yes, lots of people sell on Facebook using the Marketplace.

You don't need a huge following to make sales. Your listings are shown to people who are searching for those kinds of items, even if they don't follow your page.

Sales success depends on things like good photos, clear descriptions, fair prices, and being responsive to messages
