Back in the old old days, children who spent all day at the beach in Maine, played with their lobsters and left them on the porch to have dinner with family.
But look at it now.
Long Island fishermen used to throw the sea urchin back into the water until they find out Japanese considers them as a delicacy

likely because ppl aren't buying so shops cutting down profit margin and lowering prices in order to move product rather than things go to waste - economics...instead of making 5 dollars profit and no one buying drop price and make 2 dollars profit and sell x number of units...

well...sushi takes more preparation and work then just catching and displaying lobsters...i'm surprised they dont sell cheaper sushi at end of day but maybe yes, just take them home and eat themselves

People have little income and companies and stores lower prices to make some money. Lobsters are expensive in many countries but they must continue to decline to justify their fishing.

I shall see if it is still on sale in my next trip which could be weeks away.
This is a very nice and clean supermarket,H Mart which is owned by a Korean Corporation which has been moving into existing marts abandoned by others,in NYC,Oregon,Houston,Toronoto,I am sure there are more now.
Their fish tanks are clean ,I see lobsters of both sizes.
I dont expect to see them on sale in my next trip, once they realise the demand has slowed .they probably order less from Fulton Market.
They have fresh seafood flown in from Fulton Market daily.
