Yes, my solution for tight businesses that add surcharges is to shop elsewhere - they get 0 fees from me...

It's a hard economy for everyone, but to add fees like that is like shooting your sales in the foot. I'm constantly lowering prices just to get things to sell, not raising prices...

people do remember and they do not come back.
But help them out,go to the ATM and get some cash.
My dinner pals never seem to run out of cash, they always have cash to pay for their dinner!
I think I finally figured out why one diner always take home the left over !

Growing up in a family with 5 kids,we hardly have any leftover.
If we were dining in a restaurant, there is no leftover because the food is so delicious .
But these days it must be popular, the waitress have no problem bringing us the styrofoam container and a plastic bag at the end of the meal.
(We tip well,20-22% before tax)

yes, they are still alive and kicking.
I think I know why the lady is taking home leftover, all the fixed and semi fixed fees are killing those who live on fixed income, people here are complaining HOA fee going way up,ranging from $400 to $1k ,for tennis court, swimming pool, golf course, gym, common ground upkeep.
I know another couple who rent, common ground fee is $25,pet is $35,water is based on your usage, garbage pickup is $15,parking depends on where you park.

I have seen waiters serving a large party picking up the T bone steak, but leftover with barely any substance,or just some gravy and drips, dont make sense.
There is always 'meals on wheels' ,it is free

It's just common sense to take the leftovers out of a restaurant when it costs over $100 to feed a group of 4. A few drops of water and 30 seconds in the microwave can bring anything back to life.

well,in a traditional Chinese dinner, the dishes are placed in the middle of the table with serving spoons,so it is safe to eat the leftover.
The kitchen is equipped with burner going from 30,000 BTU up to 100,000 BTU,so whatever germs, parasites are killed, sometimes it can even burn down the kitchen.
I would take home whatever is left of a Peking duck.

I think when they have PEKING DUCk on the menu, they will order from a place which makes those ducks, not every kitchen has the set up ,once I was at a Vietnamese supermarket and they rolled out these ducks and said they have been reserved.
Same with roast pig and BBQ pork !
