You better do it fast,it can multiple fast.
My dentist found out I have $3k left to spend on dental/hearing/vision before it expires Dec 31.2024,so they are trying hard to make me spend it all .
I think many small businesses are not 'honest',your opinion may differ .

Re: dental cleansing

The 3K is from your insurance? They are trying hard to spend it...very tight timeline - look at mouth device like a dental protection mouth piece that is measured for your teeth that you wear at night to avoid grinding ...insurance cash grab

Re: dental cleansing

yes,I am not aware I have that much left to spend, but I switched plan in mid year and the new plan has different coverage.
Next years ,most healthcare providers will be cutting back ,like everyone else, they are facing rising cost !
And some of these dental places would close due to lack of business, when money is tight, people will cut back on dental care, cut their own hair, prepare their own meals, darn their own socks ,fix their own cars.
i dont grind my teeth,I also have $170 left to spend on OTC items, like aspirin, toothpaste, bandages, cough medicine etc, which I resell on Ebay as I dont need them

Re: dental cleansing

Two times per year for cleanings. Main objective is to catch cavities to prevent Root Canals.

For dental places closing, others will pop to replace - never a shortage...

We get brochures from new dentists often, there seems to be many new dentists who start their own practice,I hope they make enough to pay for all those fancy leased machines.

One word: insurance.

The insurance companies are trimming benefits and raising premium, not just property and casualty but life and health as well.
Ask anyone living in Florida how do they like their homeowner insurance premium?
Ask EV owner how they like their auto insurance premium?

Are you surprised with the trimming? Thread about dental so just stay focused - what did you decide to do with your dental benefits?

Re: dental cleansing

more xrays,floride treatment ,tooth extracting?
these would not reach $3k unless they use gold to replace some of my teeth???
I spent plenty with another dentist before I switched to this new plan,my old plan does not have much.
This new plan is not for everyone, the insurer has to approve it first,I guess since I never get sick,I qualify.
Next year is a different story,no more unlimited free LYFT rides to medical appointments.
I kind of like the idea of riding in a LYFT car.

unlimited free rides to medical appointments - wow that's a nice perk...I haven't seen that one

agent006140 12-01-2024 03:20 PM

Re: dental cleansing

It is interesting to chat with the drivers, they dont make much after LYFT/UBER take their shares .
And these days riders are not tipping!

Re: dental cleansing

Went to the dentist, try on a temp partial denture, one tooth extract, and Xrays, the clerk told me out of $3k allowance, there is now just $1k left.
I asked for XRAY of one tooth, they took many.
I noticed from past invoice ,some of their fancy Xrays were rejected by my insurer.
I would not be surprised by the time all is done, that $3k will be gone !

Re: dental cleansing

Which tooth being extracted?

agent006140 12-17-2024 11:23 AM

Re: dental cleansing

Front tooth,no complication.
There is nothing wrong ,just loose, make room for the partial denture

rsot 12-18-2024 07:47 AM

Re: dental cleansing

Ah k - clearer - I have an appointment for cleaning on the 27th

agent006140 12-18-2024 09:17 AM

Re: dental cleansing

Dentists cannot pay their bills just by cleansing your teeth,Xrays bring in more money.
This one suggests Xray every 6 months, one does not need Xray every 6 months.

Always the upcharge - I do push back when things aren't covered or when I don't see a need
