The higher my cash flow the more of an urge I feel to waste money. I try to keep it in check though. Financial discipline is a necessity, IMO.

Everyone get's the urge, but these days I'd like to believe I am older and wiser when it comes to consumerism. I look out for secondhand clothes, especially jeans, jackets and shoes, I often find stuff that has barely been worn for much cheaper compared to what they are being sold for new, even when there are sales.
I also spend less on booze these days compared to when I was a party guy. And instead of eating in restaurants everyday, I am eating more at home and investing the money that I have saved.
Today I was quite shocked at the cost of sportswear I saw, like these gym t-shirts made from wicking material. Better just to save yourself the money and buy a regular cheap t-shirt for the gym.
I am going out tonight for some drinks, and will have a mini bottle of vodka in my pocket

For lack of a better phrase "you only live once" - you can enjoy your money but I always keep a secure emergency invested stash with the approach of what happens when/if the well dries up...

running the dishwasher takes electricity. | Partly true - with the current status of fresh groceries, unfortunately.
