Default India

This is for the UK folks-
I like to watch movies about Brits in India.
If these movies are correct, there is a lot of racial prejudice towards Indians, they refer them as Black, but they are not black, they are brown?
The worse are the Che Che-British father and Indian mother, what we referred to as mixed blood, they are being discrimnated by both Indians and British.
I know the Brits are no longer in India, but there are plenty of Indians in London,do they face racial discrimination?
To me,India is the most interesting country in the world, lots of old customs that no one else seem to practice any more .
The latest movie I watch is called Queenie?and it is based on the life of a famous actress who is a Che Che-let me go find her name-Merle Oberon

Besides INDIA,Persia is also a very old country, you know the Indo Europeans settled in India,Persia,Italy and Greece, all their languages Sanskrit,Farsee,Greek and Latin share a common source.
But the Indians seem to keep many old customs, the British forbid them to practise the old customs, when hubby died, wife wil get burnt as well, the Vikings also have similar customs, the man died with his sword and a maiden will accompany him to the other world.
jI,yES,QUI,SI
Umarao JAAN is free on Youtube,a beautiful movie of an Indian courtesan
So is Passage to India, story of an English girl accusing and Indian doctor of rape.

Vivian Leigh could be a Che Che as well.
In the TV series, the man who ran a nite club and hired Queenie asked her what is her ethnicity and she said English, then he said you dont look all English, you have an exotic look the English girls lack.

What's your source on this? ...I have indian friends who confirmed that this was a RARE custom practiced among the elite and not popular at all

Too many movies and content are clouding

It looks like it varies from region to region, and with different motives=
here is one
Colonial era revival
Sati practice resumed during the colonial era, particularly in significant numbers in colonial Bengal.[61] Three factors may have contributed this revival: sati was believed to be supported by Hindu scriptures by the 19th century; sati was encouraged by unscrupulous neighbours as it was a means of property annexation from a widow who had the right to inherit her dead husband's property under Hindu law, and sati helped eliminate the inheritor; poverty was so extreme during the 19th century that sati was a means of escape for a woman with no means or hope of survival.[61]
Come to think of it,the American Indians also have a customs, after the man dies, the woman who relies on him for livelihood gave away all her belongings and just died of starvation and cold weather.
In Siberia, when the clan was ready to move to a warmer place before cold winter sets in,they formed a circle and watch the elderly and sick being killed as they would not survive the cold weather and too sick to make the journey.
In Hawaii, when leprosy broke out in China town, the afflicted ones were sent to an island called Molokai ,some claim this is a way of getting their land .

There were lots of old school traditions that don't carry on today, thankfully - barbaric
