| OfficialGenius | 04-29-2010 05:12 AM | Craigslist posts What's wrong with craigslist? I removed my shoes under clothing/accessories and listed a belt in the same category and it never shows up in the searches. This is also the ONLY listing I have that says active but doesn't show up in the searches.
Then when I try to delete it it gives me this....
Are you sure? - Please be sure you mean to delete this post.
If you repost this posting before Saturday, May 1, 6:21AM EDT,
it could be removed for overposting or spamming,
so please don't delete it if you are just trying to top-post.
Should I just delete the post. Make another account and copy/paste the same listing there so it can appear?
 |

| SevnSins | 04-29-2010 09:03 AM | delete it, and repost with new IP, email, title, and description. probably would hurt to clean your cookies either. not sure if they track them, but possibly do since ebay owns a big portion of the site.
another tip; create image files for your ads, instead of using text descriptions. these work wonders for me, and I don't have to keep coming up with new ways to word the same item.
example: create your ads in Photoshop or similar program, create 10 copies (named differently), upload to photo share site, and paste html code into CL listing instead of text you normally would have posted. |
| SevnSins | 04-29-2010 09:04 AM | also, never post more than 5 ads per email/IP address. this keeps you off their spamming blacklist |
| OfficialGenius | 04-29-2010 09:27 AM | Thanks!
I don't have photoshop so what other programs can I do this on? |

| cardfelon | 04-29-2010 10:00 AM | Sevnsins is on the right track. I follow quite a few of those techniques myself and have good luck. I also will use seperate Windows user accounts just like Ebay and it seems to work pretty good. If your ad shows up as "active" in your listings but you can not find it then they are ghosting your account and you should let that account cool off and move on to another account for awhile. |
| SevnSins | 04-29-2010 10:25 AM | cardfelon is correct. i forgot to mention the ghosting issue. i typically only post 5 listings per email, so i don't have this issue anymore. the username is also a good point, but i believe you can only have so many users per workstation, so this would depend on how many postings you have. i personally don't use multiple UNs for craigslist.
i think i have 300+ gmail accounts forwarding to my main email (LOL!) i do keep a list of those email addresses, so i can reuse them later, but find myself making new ones out of habit. |

That's not my ad. It was an ad I found that caught my attention so I always wanted to know how to do that! |
| OfficialGenius | 04-29-2010 11:08 AM | So basically a slightly different title, a different phone number, a different craigslist account, a different email, and a different IP for each one?
Hopefully I don't have to switch windows user accounts. That would be a hassle. |
| SevnSins | 04-29-2010 11:23 AM | If your catagories/cities require reistration, then that should cover it. I don't have to use phone number for my listings usually, so I don't have to fool with that too much. |
| jamblix | 04-30-2010 01:31 AM | You don't need to go too crazy with craigslist. I've been selling on craigslist for awhile now and all I do when I need to get another post in the top spot is re-list with a different e-mail address. No need to change your IP, description, etc. I used nearly the same exact description and photos for all my posts just with different e-mail logins. Well it's working for me at least. |

| cardfelon | 04-30-2010 07:49 AM | If you try to post another ad using the exact same description most of the time you will get a little message that pops up that says something along the lines of "the ad you are trying to submit is similar to one recently posted. Craigslist users prefer to not see the same ads". If you get that message just change some things around in the ad and it will most likely post for you. |
I had a friend that was posting with different emails but same ip and users accounts all 5 accounts got suspended. Nothing uncommon just stuff around the house. Every single time I try to post they do a phone verication everytime new email new user account same results Ghosted! |

That website seems too low budget to be tracking like ebay |

Even the same number? | Yeah even my phone number. As a matter of fact I even use the same e-mail address technically. If I use a different e-mail login, I'll post in my ad to e-mail my main address. |

That website seems too low budget to be tracking like ebay | Yea but guess who owns like 25% of craigslist? ebay does. It doesn't matter if the website looks low budget it's all in the backend. The server side of the website is the tech stuff you can't see. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:07 PM. | |
