Chicago Customs - Anyone Have Delayed Packages This Week?
 

Hi,

I've been importing for awhile now, and have never had any customs problems. On Monday (05-03-2010) I had a package land in Chicago customs. It is still there. The USPS website shows the package "inbound to customs".

I had a second package land on Tuesday and a third on Wednesday. Same thing. None have been released.

These were all from China but they are not name brand or trademarked itrems, so I am not worried about them being seized. I was just wondering if anyone else is currently experiencing a delay with Chicago Customs.

This is unusual, because most of my packages have previously cleared within 24 hours, and I have had packages through in as little as 10 minutes. Now, three in a row are delayed. It is just very strange.

Yes, I have had one delayed since 4/16/11

Mine have since arrived, but all three were inspected. No damage, though.

Chicago Customs is a dead end for EMS/USPS when importing branded or any commercial items from HK or China.

Stay away from Chicago of San Francisco.

Try New York, they seem careless with any kind of packages.

I do not think there are too much trouble for chicago customs recently,maybe they just checking everything more strickly as ben laden is dead so many countries stronger the security system.

me,,,no brand names or commercial, but just aromatherapy products...which contain liquid....Guess i have no luck with this..

Never had an issue with Chicago customs, and I receive my fair share of Vero items via China through them.

It's all about how the seller in China handles the paperwork, or at least that's what I was told via relative of a customs worker who works in Chicago. Could be BS though.
