Possible Problem: EMS and Chicago/OHare Customs
 

Just an FYI...

Until recently, I have never had anything seized by customs.

This month 2 EMS shipments of mine were seized. A friend of mine (who had previously never ordered anything from outside the US) also had his EMS package seized.

So, if you are planning on buying, you might want to go with DHL.

Maybe this is coincidence, but we had a woman in Chicago caught selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ DVD's and she had 6,500 box sets in her apartment. So it could also be that they are now looking more closely at anything coming through.

I just thought I'd put this out there for whatever it is worth.

6500 box sets in her apartment?? Dang how many accounts was she selling them on? Its people like that who draw attention to themselves.

That's like over half a million retail. How could she even fit that many box sets in an apartment. Wow that must have been some operation, I wonder how many she was selling a month...

I have two EMS shipments coming in this week or next hopefully they don't get seized...

Wowwww, that's pretty stupid in my opinion if you're making that much money might as well just go legit.

Yeah thats gotta be worth at least half a mill, I would of had that in a storage locker on the other side of town, at least 20 miles away.

She did. It wasn't just her. It was a group of people. While the cops were raiding her place, her cohorts were cleaning out the storage unit. By the time the cops even learned about the unit, it was already empty. They are intensely following this up, so Chicago Customs is probably going to be pretty tight for a while. According to records seized, she had several inbound shipments in transit. So they are trying to catch those and add them to her case. Also, they want to nab whoever receives them. In addition, they would like to determine the exact source.

Seems they suspect she wasn't getting from a supplier (like she thought she was). Rumor/conjecture is she was duped by somebody in their basement playing middle man on her and was simply forwarding the orders higher up. The authorities know who her direct contact was. They want to know who the contact's contact was. They also want to reel in anybody involved that they aren't already aware of.

If I had media coming from Asia into Chicago, I'd abandon it and eat the loss. Better to lose inventory funds than to lose by being fined or worse by getting the most unpleasant unpaid vacation...

However, if your sh*t is coming in to another customs, you're probably golden. I bet they've temporarily taken people from other locations and assigned them to help screen at Chicago.

Not to necro but I remember reading about this. So she got got from within? She was doing this for terrorism right? I hate people who make it harder for us regulars. I'm happy in my car, I don't need a Bentley
