Seo & Backlinking - Where to start?

I'm interested in learning how to SEO and backlink, but I am unsure where to start..

I've downloaded quite a few guides but I'm not sure if thats the way to go. It'll probably take me quite some time to read all those guides..

I'm willing to pay to learn, but I'm not sure where to start..

I'm looking to SEO & Back link an accounting site, there is not much competition..

If successful then I will do other sites as well.

Pretty much you need to find some sites that are relevant to your site. Anything that has to do with money would be great. Contact the website owners and ask to see if they will post a link to your site on theirs. They may ask for you to post a link on your site to theirs as well.

Also, you can find blogs related to your site and post a comment and include your URL in the info section of the comment (Name, Email, URL) as well.

I thought you needed to add keywords and other things in your script..is there any guide that you would recommend. Like seo for dummies...
