APPLIED!

:heh:

MadSam 08-08-2010 05:41 PM

Let us know if you hear anything back. Please apply slapped!

MadSam 08-12-2010 11:15 AM

What position did you apply for?

madman 08-14-2010 06:55 PM

Well, I had a phone interview with them a while back. they suck and had no clue how to ask about my experience. They will ask those old school algorithm question like how to implement a queue/stack if you have xyz. what is the Big O complexity...etc.

The position is always in Seattle unless you want to move.

Stick to your steal account online and it's more fun than working in a corporate America world where you have people telling you where you have to improve for your own good...

madman 08-14-2010 06:59 PM

well. if we have an agent under cover in Amazon, wouldn't be a bad idea, hua? this is getting more interesting after I read the whole posts.
Go ahead, Slapped! Did you hear anything from them, Officialgenius? good luck with your interview!

MadSam 08-14-2010 07:08 PM

Hey if anybody needs some references...

OfficialGenius 08-14-2010 07:36 PM

I was going to apply but forgot.

I'm in NY. Would that be an issue?

MadSam 08-14-2010 07:41 PM

What's the position you're applying for?

sax4 08-14-2010 08:55 PM

We really need someone on the inside!

Can you imagine? One day there'd be a movie - The Insider exposing the corruption of eBay!

I was contacted by a recruiter from amazon for a software engineer position.
They found my resume online somewhere.

They need sort of enterprise level work experience for big framework like Java EE something.

Their cloud computing stuff is quite interesting though. Amazon.com is just a piece of the big pie they have. They are quite ambitious.

You guys ever used their cloud computing service for a e-store?

I hope they did NOT find you on the aspkin forum...haha

madman 08-15-2010 01:07 AM

who cares? I'm sure amazon people got banned by amazon as well. that's after work life. nobody cares. for a big business like that, you really can't watch after everybody.
To be honest with you, even I am in amazon right now, I probably won't help you guys much here since I won't see the real algorithm running behind it anyway.

madman 08-15-2010 01:09 AM

could you guys do me a little favor? please take a look at my other post and give me a little advice on it? It really bothered me.

Madman

I read your other post. I'm in Human Resources with an emphasis on Employment Laws on the federal and state level. You stated you are a 'contractor.' By the description of your work, you are not and they incorrectly labeled you 'contractor.' Thats first and foremost because an 'employee' has more protection than do 'contractors.' Alot of companys try to avoid this protection and rights by incorrectly labeling them contractors, but the court system has 7 general rules to determine if you are technically an employee although they labeled you as a contractor. This test is callled "Right of Control." Once you establish your role as seen by the judicial system, then we can discuss more in depth about:1) how to currently handle that bitch in the meantime; 2) identify violations;3) identify any civil damages as a result.

It is unfortunate, but the accountant is liscensed and bond by her own code of ethics she more than likely violated also. Secondly, most if not all employers, would be able to see when you logged into your computer and logged off if you forgot to punch in or out. There should be no excuses. Most pro-active employers wanting to limit legal damages would just give you those meesly hours to avoid something larger in the long haul. This company seems very stupid and can only see what's in front of them.

PM me. But Its super late and I'm about to fall dead.

MadSam 08-16-2010 10:38 AM

Madman you work for Amazon?

madman 08-16-2010 01:05 PM

I'm not sure if I am a contractor by the definition as you described below. However, I just work for them as a temp for about a couple of months till their website totally fixed up by me.
We never had a formal contact signed buy they pay me every two weeks for the hours I worked there.
Every employee there had to clock in and clock out even they are all regular full time.
