Need help finding files on an old HD
 

I will be inheriting a Sony Vaio laptop from a friend who just got a new one that I plan to press into service as a stealth computer at wifi hotspots.
But first he wants to get his old emails off of it.
The HD is in an external case hooked up to his new Windows 7 machine.
I believe that he was using Outlook (or maybe Outlook express...is that even still around?) for his email...not Yahoo, Gmail or similar.
Where do these emails get stored on the computer? Or what is the file extension? I'm assuming that he could do a file search using *. (the file extension) to find them.
Any help?

Go to My Computer > :C > Program Files or Program Data it should be there either under the files or stored under Outlook or Outlook Express.
