Funny Restaurant
 

I passed this place tonght called Vero's Deli. I can't come up with a good joke about it, but I thought you all would dig it. Classic.

My favorite one is the Heart Attack Grill. Those over 350 lbs eat for free.

That is where ebay and paypal have their corporate luncheons

but I heard they are not pleased with the place because they keep getting hot mustard on their sandwhiches

You are unlikely to get rich in the restaurant business. You are buying yourself a really hard job; expect 16+ hour days and no time off.

My parents owned and operated an Italian resto in California many years ago. Despite it's success, even having a full bar with it's popularity, it barely broke even. Overhead is high, and so is staff turnover. Most restaurant owners are in it for the love of the food, you don't do it for the money. Kinda like teaching, I suppose.

The infomercial gag on Heart Attack Grill's website is hilarious. The job application is too.

EDIT: They're also the most ruthless restaurant I've ever seen when it comes to intellectual property. They brag about getting competitors shut down on their licensing page. :shocked:

Many immigrants come to this country and they open a restaurant,yes,work their ass off ,but they create a job for themselves,with no marketable skills and language and age,cultural barriers,who would hire them?
You know they keep 2 sets of books,at the end of the day,they rerun the tape!

Yes, and some of the best most authentic food comes from those mom & pop places you are talking about. We have some awesome Mexican food in California and the very best are run by immigrants who can't even speak English. America has a very diverse food selection, fortunately unlike other parts of the world where I've been.

I liked the cafe that I visited in London it is called - "Cereal Killer Cafe". There are tons of cereals. Also there are many souvenirs. Oh and the coolest interior they have a portraits of a serial killers made with a cereals - it's brilliant!!!

Do you know Steve Jobs is adopted ,his biological father is from Middle East who later ran a restaurant in CA.
Jobs used to go and eat there,his father never know he has a famous son.

Have anyone been to an all you can eat buffet where the restaurant assigns a person to watch you eat,if you eat too much.

A buffet guard?

Well, I'm not sure about that, but years ago when I was at the Bellago buffet in Las Vegas, I noticed this guy dressed in a uniform who was staring me down non-stop. It made me so uneasy, I actually asked one of the waitstaff to tell the guy to go away.

You should have seen the look on that guys face when the waiter went over there and told him to get lost because he was making diners feel uncomfortable... :bolt:

I have seen it in Chinatown restaurants,someone actually stand not far from your table and watch you.
In Japan,there is all you can eat with a time restriction,like 45 minutes.

food is scarce and expensive in Japan,thats why you have not found one yet.
