how to downgrade from win7 to xp or win 2000
 

hi,
if anyone knows how to do a downgrade from win7 to xp or win 2000, i would greatly appreciate it. i just realized my laptop does not have enough memory to have win7 and xp.

You will need:
1. an xp or 2000 FULL VERSION CD - NOT the upgrade version
2. a flash drive to backup ALL your personal files

You cant downgrade directly from win 7 to win 2k, so you will have to boot from the win2k cd and format the drive which erases EVERYTHING, it would be like a new PC.

YOU CAN save your files by just installing win2k in another folder besides c:\windows (the default folder) and not format the hard drive drive, but this will take up a lot of room on the drive, so hopefully you have space.
