Who here requires address to match credit card?
 

I require the address and zip to match the credit card when the buyer uses a card with address verification (AVS). Does anyone else here do it too?

Problem is I keep getting tons of people with it not matching. PO Boxes in factmore than half the time just do not match even on the second try of the box number moved to the beginning which sometimes works. PO Boxes regularly fail AVS checks completely and buyers always claim that's what's associated with their card.

Anyone have insights into this?

well sometimes they really DON'T know when they think they do. Ask them their address, or ask where they get their statements.

One thing I finally did was I got authorize.net's fraud detection suite, I set it to limit transactions of a single IP address per hour so no one can just hammer declines charge me up a large bill in merchant account fees.

I used to require that... but it was killing sales... so I changed it to limited matching with Merchant Plus. Works great now.

What "limited matching" do you use?
