Increase Your Internet Speed
 

If you want to increase your internet speed without any expensive software, here you go! Got this information online, and it should speed your internet up 50%-60% with a few clicks.

1. First you need to open "Start" then "Run"
2. Now in "Run" write gpedit.msc
3. Next navigate to "Administrative Templates" -> "Network" -> "QoS Packet Scheduler"
4. In "QoS Packet Scheduler" click on "Limit reservable bandwidth", and select Properties
5. Now click on "Properties" then make it "Enabled" and set "Bandwidth limit: 0". click OK and you are done.

NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE FASTER INTERNET ALREADY.

tech gurus, can you confirm this....

would this work on dialup as well?
i'm not a tech guru, and really do not feel comfortable messing with the registery.

Yes it works, may not be 50-60% but windows holds back your internet speed for spyware checks and updates, if you do manual updates and spyware checks then you can take advantage of the extra speed. You can also do something similar with torrent downloaders but it's a little more complicated, I got my utorrent from 60 kbps to 600 kbps...

Confirmed...Ultimate Speed Booster PRO 3.4 does this also.

i just found out this gpedit.msc is not available in vista home.
is there another way ?
