Do you know where can i download chrome os

I need to download Chrome os. I know that it's free, but in all places where I used to be able to download it, now it's not available. If there is somebody who knows what I am talking about, please help!
Thank you!

Think this is what you want:

Download Chrome OS RC & beta

Wow... Didn't know about this one!

Could be just the thing that kills Microsoft. Seriously.

Most people use their computers primarily for the web. And applications are starting to MOVE to the web. OK, so Google's spreadsheet isn't really an alternative to Excel at the moment. But there is little doubt it will improve over time.

Most users are not very technical. They just want their PC's to work, plain and simple. And system crashes are every user's nightmare. How much stuff have you lost because you forgot to backup your data?

I think this will start with the Netbooks, but it won't stop there. Every year, they will just get more and more popular. And the hardware will become cheaper and cheaper.

Then will come the desktop version - basically a 20" monitor with a PC the size of a ROKU box. For $200. Add $40 per year for access to something like MS Office. No updating. No anti-virus software necessary. No more memory issues. No more expensive hardware upgrades. Easier and cheaper. HOLY SH*T!

Given that option as opposed to a $1,000 PC with another $300 to spend on MS Office, $50 for the anti-virus software, and having to worry about losing data in the event of a system failure, which option would you choose?

This will definitely be a game-changer.

i like chrome os. I'm just a little worried about googles snooping abilities and reporting. i just settled a law suite with leaked user infos with google buzz.

I think moving toward an all remote access computer environment would be great as the only hardware needed will be small box with vpn or windows rdp and everything would run on subscription based cloud servers. I think privacy will suffer as your use will automatic make you agreeable to the viewing of your usage under the patriot act.

I love technology, but i prefer privacy! i have seen vmware server for cloud computing. has anyone thought of installing this could server os on a basic server and creating their own remote server virtual environments?

btw - this is a 2 hour Dl from this source.

Actually, I think that people will demand privacy protections. The Patriot act was a terrible piece of legislation. I'm all for stopping terrorists, but what is wrong with getting a judge to sign off on surveillance? When there is no oversight, ANY system is ripe for abuse. Hopefully, this will be repealed, or at least modified.

Google chrome os is a great idea but needs alot more work. So far hasn't been a great success as google would of hoped people are worried about there privacy and not being able to do anything with there computer when they don't have a connection. Either way I think if they put some more effort into it, they could make a great operating system and i love chrome.
