Arg!! Bought quickbooks and...

i bought quickbooks 2010 on ebay, and installed the software...i never thought this would be foo foo product. But after installation it asked if i wanted to register, naturally i said yes...but then it told me to call intuit's 800 number.
i gave them the product id and keys and they told me it was a foo foo. they asked me how "product" was spelled on the package and i looked and it was spelled "prosuct"!! dangit...what to do? intuit didn't want to help me, told me to buy from them :(

i hope i didn't buy this from a forum member :argue:

Have you contacted the seller?

jbluntz 11-27-2010 06:24 PM

Out of all this time on the forum you would think you would know how to spot a foo foo by the price and where it's being sold at.

123 11-27-2010 06:29 PM

That's why when i buy for myself i always buy direct from amazon not 3rd party sellers and i get free 2 day shipping :D

GreenBean 11-27-2010 06:42 PM

Buyer beware! (Have I ever said that before?)

Let me get this straight,,,,You,,,A Former EXECUTIVE on this Forum,,, are looking for help in dealing with an Ebay Seller who sold you a Counterfeit Version of Quickbooks,,,,

I seem to Remember How you COMPLETELY Screwed a Totally Legit Amazon Seller in a Vacuum Cleaner Deal a Few months ago,,,and how you Posted it here,,, and how you got Blasted by me and other Forum members about it,,,,What Happened?,,,,,,Did you lose your VERMIN Skillset???,,,,,,

Do the Same EXACT thing to your Ebay Seller as you did to the Vacuum Cleaner Seller on Amazon,,,and you will come out on Top again,,,,At least this Ebay Seller Deserves it,,,,

i know...but it was auction style, and this person didn't sell these in the past....
the price actually was pretty high, (got into a bidding war in the last minute).

no, i didn't screw anyone out of a vacuum cleaner, we actually came to an agreement we both were happy with...i've contacted the ebay seller....i'm not out to scam anyone.

GreenBean 11-27-2010 08:34 PM

What, if anything are you wanting now? Is it a moan or hand-holding exercise? :spy:

Again, I'll say it . There is RARELY an item on ebay worthwhile buying that might cause a STEALTH account problems. Who gets caught in a bidding war unless.....
#Hell I'm speechless

Seriously, lol.

(edit: And so, what's the point? Not trying to be mean, but isn't it obvious what to do here? Get a freakin' refund man, file an item not as described, tell eBay and Paypal he sold you counterfeit merch. Take a pic of the misspelling for proof, easy.)

well...

here's eBay buyer protection coming to save the day!

nobody999 11-28-2010 02:15 PM

i'm going to go ahead and just keep it, it seems to update fine.
i checked this guys feedback and what he's selling, i don't think he did this on purpose. i don't want to mess up his feedback or his standings with ebay./

most people don't break the law by accident

You realize if it's foofoo, and you still choose to use it, you can get in trouble right?

Curious why you didn't tell seller you know its bogus and to get a refund. If they refund you and let you return it you dont have to hurt them and report them. Anyone selling knock offs has to expect refunds. So if they freak out and wont, then file a claim

that's what i was going to do....just didn't expect getting this from this particular seller...perhaps they really didn't know as well.

If it was a mistake you are entitled to a refund
If he got caught you are entitled to a refund

Either way, its ⊗⊗⊗⊗

I don't even understand why you opened a thread for this. Not like it's a complicated issue.
