found newspaper articles, cannot give specifics - but some very sad ones there...

facebook pics, yuk..

still dreading friend or neighbour buying from me, gotta happen with the amount of sales and odds right...?

Interesting thread. I only do a quick check if it's a name or address that really sticks out. I've had quite a few interesting ones and some disturbing. I once had an order where the address was a Correctional Institution in Florida. I checked who the recipient was and couldn't believe what I found, I'm not going to say it but they were serving life for convictions as a serial offender of one of the worst crimes you can think of.

Another time I recognised the shipping address somewhere that I knew was very expensive, I looked a little closer at the name and it looked a little familiar so I searched who they were. It was one of those actors that's been in hundreds of things, you recognise their face but the name just doesn't stick. Some of the movies he'd been in he starred along side Clint Eastwood, George Clooney, Wesley Snipes, John Travolta and others.

Others were a Knight who had won the Nobel prize a few years ago for embryonic research and a QC that lived a few doors down from Buckingham Palace who hosted some TV show called Money Watch (never saw it). Probably more but those are off the top of my head.

Sold something recently online to the girl living next door - that was a laugh. I did ship though since I do all my shipping close to work at lunch.

Also sold a collectible to the office of the Prime Minister here in Canada - I remember that sale because they tried to dispute non-receipt ha - won because I had tracking - morons at all levels.

Oh yes - and in early 2004, sold some collectible to some porn star (apparently) - she e-mailed a lot of awhile but I had to head overseas for some work.

haha, yeah I was about to do that aswell 5 minutes after they bought it just for a laugh. But I didn't have a car at the time :-(

Imagine buying something on ebay and it showing up 15 minutes later.
And the ebay address is 400 miles away :-P

I hope the opportunity arises again.

Be careful though can always have a jerk arise and he file a claim saying he never got it.

i remember selling bluetooths a while back...the address was local, but i shipped it anyways.....i visit a particular post office regularly and while standing in line, one of the customer in front of me asked the postal worker how to ship this item back...he looked at the box (it had my name/address) and he pointed at me and told her "oh he's right there"!

it was kind of embarassing because the women wanted to return the item for replacement/refund because it was defective....
