More and more, I cannot stand the direction this country is going in. How did we, as the nation who is supposed to cherish our freedoms, allow this sort of thing to happen?
Just as Christmas is approaching, many of the unemployed will be losing their benefits since Congress apparently has no time to take it up for a vote. I don't care which side of the debate you are on, doesn't this at least deserve to be voted on?
I hear very little about any attempts by the government to help create new jobs. Granted, there is no magic bullet here, but they could at least try SOMETHING!
Instead, what super-important new laws were they working on passing? Must be pretty important stuff to ignore the economic situation, the deficit, our crumbling infrastructure, Social Security and Medicare... CRACKING DOWN ON BAKE SALES!
