original | 12-06-2010 11:38 AM | I hate UPS They rang my door bell, I opened the door literally 10 sec later, the UPS guy is running away back to the truck, I yell at him to come back, he obviously heard me, but drove off.
Douche... |
inthezone | 12-06-2010 11:47 AM | I feel your pain. When I get UPS deliveries, I swear to god these guys don't knock on the door or ring the bell. they just leave the "Sorry, we missed your ass" crap and leave. |
Red X | 12-06-2010 11:53 AM | Ha, this happens to almost everyone, they leave the items on my door when i'm not home, even for the ones that require signatures. |
LMAO thats messed up,what you got to do is be friendly with them I always say thank you have a good day, etc... and ive never had any problems like this |
original | 12-06-2010 02:53 PM | Well here is the thing, this black dude used to deliver USP around my neighborhood. He would come around the back door to deliver packages when there was no response at the front. Super nice guy...
Now... there is this 20-something white dude who obviously doesn't give a crap about his job.
EDIT: Witch is stupid, cause I'm 20-something years old.
Funny thing is, he'll be back tomorrow for another delivery according to tracking.
I'll tell him whats up tomorrow. That is, if he doesn't run away again. |

I'm UPS's best customer. |
jeffweico | 12-06-2010 03:54 PM | Every time I have had anything delivered via UPS, they leave it on the deck on the side of my house (it runs to the front). They NEVER ring the bell or knock on the door. In my neighborhood, nothing is likely to get stolen, but still.
Then again, I've read that while UPS drivers made good money, UPS tracks them by GPS and has standards for how much time everything should take - down to the number of steps it takes to get from the truck to the front door and how much time is allowed for each step. So I would think they have to make up time wherever they can. I *DO* feel for them in this regard. Because you just know that some a**hole manager at UPS wants to make them account for every second of every day with no regard to what the job actually entails. |
original | 12-06-2010 05:30 PM | I knew someone who was doing UPS deliveries.
$21/hr pretty good for a job that takes no skill/education to get. |
holymoly | 12-06-2010 05:34 PM | Dang! 21/hr for real??? You can only usually find that with a college degree or working online like we do! |

airos | 12-06-2010 06:20 PM | People, be happy you're not in the UK using Royal Mail. RM likes to ignore the fact that the package needs to be signed for and can randomly dump it at the next door neighbour's address.
I live in a street with a Mon-Fri market. Quite busy. The worst RM has done to me is have the package signed by the nearest market stall trader (!!!) and leave the it with them with instructions similar to: "if you see any people walking out of this house just give it to them!". I was like WTF when I looked at proof of delivery online after I didn't get the item for a few days. |
Yeah some UPS drivers get paid up to $30 an hour depending on location, though its a simple task it ain't easy and they do earn there money. Imagine picking up 70lb boxes to get to a door on 0 degree weather etc etc.. ain't an easy job i had a cousin work at ups driver for a couple months said he hated it had to much back ache every day |
I have gotten to know my UPS guy so he's pretty cool. He waits a few seconds before he runs off or even comes back if he can fit it in. He's had to put up with my rants on brokerage fees 1000 times so I should get him a bottle for xmas. But as far as shipping companies go I absolutely hate UPS with a passion. They are slower then anyone else and charge higher fees for that. |
