Netbook multi OS with Ext hard drive?

Can you run multiple boot OS from a netbook and an external hard drive with multipul partitions? I'm thinking using a USB drive would be pretty poor performance wise for an OS. Never tried it....

I don't have a netbook to experiment with so am taking the fast way: Ask you cats :)

Thanks

i have used usb to use linux works quite well, i have used hiruns boot cd and used the mini xp also virtual machine

why don't you just buy a large hard drive for your computer and install windows on multiple partitions.

just clone your hard drive to the larger one using acronis or something, use easeus to resize the partition, create the other partitions and then clone the partition with windows on to the others, change drive letters and rename then reboot, much faster and simpler that installing windows the traditional way on each partition.

oh and by the way , the answer to your original question is yes if its a descent one

I use more the one puter at a time. And I already run multi OS. Not a fan of VM... Just trying to clean up some space and was looking at using a netbook. I could probably get better results chopping up the drive in the book

well the main concideration is the kind of hard drive = SATA, do not use IDE
