Homework Help! LOL
 

Hey guys, I'm back in school starting my masters and I have to make up a basic physics class and I suck in science and math! LOL

I have an equation I can't figure out even though I have all the data. So if anyone is experienced in this area I need help....NOW! It's due by midnight! :)

It's the equation for linear expansion.

3.465=3.375{1+a(92.2-21.11)} and a has unit 1/degrees C

This is greek to me!!!!!!!!! Please help!

I 'think' a stands for the linear expansion... that's what the equation needs to be solved for! I don't get it either!!!!

Oh okay.. so what's the big deal? Why don't you just solve for "a"?

Solving for "a" on a calculator I get

3.7511 e-4

I'm not sure what kind of number "a" is supposed to be, though. Did you write the problem exactly as it appears in the book?
