hmm been looking for something like this but not sure how it would work for me, do you have to hook it up to a router? just turn it on and it scans for wifi/internet?

look at the bottom: "takes 20+ minutes for router to crack password". In reality on a standard desktop or laptop computer, a WEP password can be i 30 minutes to 4 hours. It all depends on how busy the network is and the type of router it is. Now with it being fine tuned to just cracking networks, it might work faster, but I highly doubt it will be noticeable faster. You're better off with Aircrack for mac or kane and abel for windows. Those are some of the older programs that you can get for free that do the same thing, i'm sure there are newer ones out there that are more user friendly.

This thing looks great, I just wonder how long it actually takes to crack one. I wouldn't wanna sit in my car in a parking lot with my laptop on for an hour waiting to crack in lol

also there are free apps (for iphone) and free programs/websites that tell you about free wifi spots all over the world, that way you don't have to do anything illegal :P

im on a mac so whats air crack? theres a few password protected internet my laptop picks up id love to use.

Be careful with this! While using a long range router is legal, and so is using any open networks you may find, using a program to hack into someone else's network is NOT.

I read their FAQ, it is worded very carefully. It says it is perfectly legal to use this on ANY NETWORK that you have permisison to use. Of course, if you had permission, you wouldn't NEED the hacking program since you would have a password.

I would love to try it but only if i get some good feedback. U said u can chang the ip anytime u want. I didnt read that but that feture alone is worth the price.

yes you are hacking and decrypting someones network. these have been around for years. you can actually decrypt WpA2 u can look it up on youtube. You use command line and backtrack 4. But as Jeff said. be very careful hack someones network is illegal without permission.

Newtools so this one that is 30 bucks is the same thing as the 2 mile range one u had earlyer on this post.

@newtools does this work like the Wifi Robin?

If you eventually crack a code,does this thing display the password of the wifi spot you cracked?Or do you gotta crack the code every time you log in?

backtrack 4 is the software the decryption chips uses in these wifi devices.

if u youtube: wifi usb decryption china you will see the software in action. The sites above are using the same software and method as these.

it says on their sites that red-x has given here: may take 20+ mins to decrypt a network. back 4 keeps a record of the string and key/ password for future connection. be aware that not all WpA2 networks can be decrypted. Some can. i recommend looking on youtube.

But i would be careful using this (war - driving) for selling as it's not reliable for purpose. in a public area or clubhouse of complex ok, but using others networks is not safe activity.

the high gain attenas on the Wifi Sky i posted above is 27dbi gain. thats huge compared with 5-6 dbi gain on most usb wifi antenna 's

The manufacture reports 2 miles or more.

Let's team up and order a couple of those $30 ones.

You can also make your own, just youtube it, you can make a long range wi-fi antenna out of a coffee can, pringles can, or even a dish network sattelite dish, if you live in the city there should be more than enough open wi-fi networks available mcdonalds, starbucks etc.

Update on the WIFI SPY that Newtools suggested.I messed with it yesterday and it actually worked.It was really confusing getting it set up.The instructions sucked.I'm not sure how long it took to crack the password.I started cracking at 3AM and woke up at 6AM and it was cracked.

You can accomplish this for a much cheaper price by using Aircrack and a compatible wireless card
