Would You Pay $30 for a Pay-Per-View Movie?

Hollywood thinks you will.

In April, they are launching a service that will allow you to rent a pay-per-view movie 8 weeks after it has been released in the theaters - for $30.

This would happen (i'm guessing) 8 weeks BEFORE the movie was available on DVD.

Is it just me that thinks they are totally delusional?

There is NO way I would pay that... LOL

That is TOO FUNNY

giggidy123 03-31-2011 11:21 PM

No freaking way, I don't even go to the movies now unless its something I really want to see. I just wait till it comes to on demand or netflix.

LMAO I wouldn't even pay $10 to see it 10 days before its released.... get real

If a person wanted to waste $30,,,they might aswell go to the theaters to watch the film..............

rsot 04-01-2011 11:06 AM

Maybe - if they accept pa yp al and sell their digital downloads via eB ay.

Why pay when you can go to many websites online that streams the movies? Trust me the quality online will be 10 out of 10 if its 8 weeks before dvd release.

Good Ol Hollywood,,Always trying to figure out the Next Best Way to Rip off the Public,,,But of course they do not see it that way,,,Hollywood will simply refer to something like this as a:

"Potentially New revenue Stream",,,Not the Larceny that it Really is,,,

Then Amazon/Ebay Boot Us for selling "Recopied Media" when all these Companies Beg People to Hate them Because of Prices like this,,

jeffweico 04-01-2011 11:03 PM

It will be interesting to see the results, though... I think this will fail SPECTACULARLY! I don't know ANYONE who would pay $30 to see a movie.

Although there might be a few where I'd pay that to get the 2 hours of my life back...

You've got to be joking "30$" to watch a film you can download in 1/8 of the time before they release the film online for "30$", which ever idiot wants to waste money like that I take my hat of to them.
