Adding Letters and Words to Pictures

Does anyone here know how to add words to pictures? For example, on ebay you'll see people with words on their photos stating "USA SELLER". Does anyone here know how to do this, or simple software that could make this possible for a beginner? Thanks!

If you mean a "watermark" style overlay then you could use almost anything to do this

I guess the simplest yet clumsiest way would be to use MS paint, if you own a PC you will have this software.

I only have "paint", no MS paint unfortunately. I am running Windows Vista, but I also have Windows 7 computers in my home, i'd have to check those, but i'd rather have it on Vista, since this is the pc I use for business. Any other recommendations?

There must be some decent software out there for watermarking pictures?

I forgot it's pretty slow here on the weekends, just figured someone here knew some unique software, i'll just have to do some research.

sorry MS paint is paint - "microsoft" paint. Its the worst possible software for the job but it will do it without having to downlaod anything else and you will get the desired effect.

I use adobe photoshop, simple to use but you may not have it?
