I just came up with an idea.

I reside in an small but not small town. This town has a lot of old money etc. This town really goes by word of mouth. Check this out: I was thinking about buying domain names and publish them on the local free shopper that gets handed out every week. Everybody reads this shopper.

I was thinking about buying domains that directly point at different popular local business. In other words, in the business names. This is so hardcore that it is not ethical and i may get my arse beat, But man does it sound fun!

I would over charge the domains, and well these guys would almost have to buy it because they run a business and now part of it is for sale in the shopper.

(Just hit me, i do not have the guts to do it, just day dreaming)

I love the idea to be honest. I am sure their are ways you could take this and make some good money without getting your arse kicked.

I forgot to mention that its a fantastic idea and it sounds like it would work.

Maybe you can get a lawyers advice?

Decent idea but would it work? Popular small town businesses - do you think it would fly? They might be a long ways away from doing business online and interest might be so so...unless you are privy to more info.

lol thats actually illegal to buy domains for the purpose of cyber squatting and then charging high prices, they now have the right to just take your domain away. I remember reading about it a couple months ago.
