Default Do you sell on craigslist?

I sell a few items on craigslist, of course several other people do as well we all flag each others ads.

Do any of you sale on craigslist and have competition with ads from others selling the same items?

Of course. CraigsList is great when you know how to weed out spam and complete idiots. Only way to beat competitors is to list in the categories that can absorb the most flags.

As for flagging them, place yourself inside a large open WiFi network area. Condos, apartments, small business plazas, and malls.

I have access to 10+ open WiFi's right outside my complex door, and 4 from within the unit. Get a high dBi antenna expander and life is even easier. Needless to say, 6+ open networks that are close to you can make you pretty powerful when flagging. I partnered up with a competitor and we pretty much dominate CL in our city for a given number of items.

Be smart and efficient.

PS - Mobile IPs do not work for flagging.

I'm scared of craigslist, there are to many robberies, and murders, but I do know a few people that sells on there that makes a nice amount of money weekly. It's just not my cup of tea, and I'm scared.

Now, If I was able to ship only I would sell on there in a heartbeat, but I hear it's not allowed. If anyone here knows how to make this possible please let me know.

Ghosting has been happening since the day DL began. The majority will not ghost, but yes, it will happen occasionally no matter what.

Just delete the ghosting one and rearrange a few words to create a new one and make it look new so the bot doesn't stop you from posting claiming it is a double post.

Craigslist can be great for electronics products. There's deff. a diminishing returns situation there, however. It probably works best as an income generator if you live in a large metro area.

Oh, and I've never been murdered. That sounds like the kind of thing my mom would be worried about. Just meet in public places (like a mall or Starbucks).

@env, are you sure you haven't been murdered?

Thanks

I used a link to my store for the pic and information of an item I tried to sell On CL, the link was actually to my item but I didn't account for the fact someone could put two and two together. I'd seen people include links to Amazon to show a pic and display product info but this guy knew it was me selling it. He was in a big hurry wanted it out that day and wanted to put money in my paypal account

He didn't fess up to being an Amazon Selelr at first and lied to me about his name and what he needed it for. Upon examination, I surmised it was for one of his customers as he had sold the same items, or was selling similar items...but don't know why he didn't just say that when he phoned me.

He wanted me NOT to include a packing slip, reminded me 3 times with some lame excuse he broke his roomates item and this was a gift for him. The packing slip does not show an amount of money anyhow so who cares?

It was a legit sale and I made about $90 using CL to direct someone to my store. Next time I would a link to ebay for the product and not to my own Amazon Store.

We also sell tires on CL.

The good tires that still have alot of tread he takes from the back of a local tire store, those are the tires they are going to throw out
They put them near the dumpster

He goes about 10am at night to get them.

Surprised you did not get scammed. Anyone with such requests in my sales past has been an experienced scammer.

I used to sell on craigs but depends on what youre selling..JUST be VERY careful on what your posting some "ebay veros" could actually come after you and seu you.. again depending on what you're selling.. but works well if your in big area.. NYC, miami, etc..
you could also sell on other cities (helps alot! if you have a phone app which you could look/post in a certain amount of miles away from your zipcode, meaning.. you could get a bigger amount of traffic persay)
and offer them to pay with paypal, (sometimes works/sometimes doesn't) and ship with tracking..

Yep that wasn't smart of me.

He can still pull something, it's only been a few weeks. He bought from me using a Sellers account. One good thing is I quickly asked him for his phone number and he gave it to me, so I called him right back. Then ran to set my vacation settings (quicker than removing the itemn itself) but he got there first and ordered. As long as I have his real number, he won't pull anything that I cannot have him "fix"
