| | | FandangoKango | 08-20-2011 07:27 AM | Blackberry curve Unlocking CDMA... So I found this blackberry curve in spanking new condition. It's cdma meaning no sim chip. The phone service is off, but it turns on and everything. How do I unlock it to use for myself or what do I need to do if I sell it? |
| GrannyT | 08-20-2011 08:12 AM | I bought a blackberry curve last week - well pleased (yes I know it's off topic!!)
:pop2: |
| unkown5454 | 08-20-2011 02:02 PM | What service are you trying to put it on? Software would need to be flashed to said company. |
| JRYAN34 | 08-20-2011 02:31 PM | does cdma even have sims cards? it doesnt for us cellular (cdma only phones) i know that for a fact |
| BiN4RY | 08-20-2011 02:33 PM | You cannot easily unlock a CDMA phone. You can only do it by flashing a corresponding firmware for another CDMA carrier, if any exists.
You most likely also have to swap out the ESN, as the one in your phone may already been blacklisted by the default carrier. |
| FandangoKango | 08-20-2011 03:49 PM | Yea, I found the program QPST. I'll flash the whole device and it should be fine. Thanks! |

Long long time ago,... analog days, I used to clone esn numbers and get free calls (local and international) and sell them etc.... even had the boss of ba esn number.... dont worry mods, I got nicked and case is over so nothing to hide here.... I was a little boy and got a silly 250 fine!!!
All the UK networks took me too court, but as I was a little boy, not much could be done - oh the good old days.
I still dont pay for calls - legit though :) - back door business |

| jbluntz | 08-22-2011 02:55 AM | It's a free loan with no interest what else? nah I'm sure he meant free load, in other words using a phone that's not legally yours or something close to that, I would assume from the context.. |
| BiN4RY | 08-22-2011 05:57 AM | Yes, that's what I meant. Gotta blame autocorrect for that. |
| Alps_a somewhatlegend | 08-22-2011 02:39 PM | Free loan (load) is what I used to do my friend.... no pay for nothing and 'free load' of anothers cloned imei - I been convicted for that - tmobile, voda, orange and o2 took me to court and wanted millions - I was 15 (20 years ago) and they got £75 :)
Last year I had £50,000 credit physical on 3g network (cops came round and saw it) - 3 UK rang me complaining but I knew I was within law and told them byezz e byezz.... incentive for some of you? or a warning not to mess with the big boys - you decide. | | All times are GMT -5.
