Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene intensifies, on track to become Category 3 storm - latimes.com

My hopes ya'll in Florida are safe for the duration of this latest hurricane.
Hope it blows out quickly with minimal damage.
Anyone living on the Gulf of Mexico, look after yourself & families.

Be safe and do nothing foolish.:)

It wasn't that big a deal, just more media/government hysteria.

GTB 08-29-2011 04:36 PM

glad to hear it^^^

god bless america;)

ovidiu 08-29-2011 06:35 PM

But it cut Obama's vacation short, and hey, that's something, lol.

GTB 08-29-2011 06:46 PM

why,isnt obama your cuppa tea?

JRYAN34 08-29-2011 07:43 PM

Watched it all week on the weather channel. I think they outplayed it, but that is expected for major headlines, and attention. I guarantee the flooding and damage is worse than most people think.

ovidiu 08-29-2011 08:15 PM

No, Ron Paul is my cup of tea.

He has been on vacation for almost 3 years, no sense in changing the pace now.

newjerseymax 08-29-2011 10:17 PM

It always media hype! Doesn't the weather channel own Home Depot?

Gman91189 08-30-2011 12:51 AM

you seem to be the type of person who isnt happy with anything, and just like to complain

GreenBean 08-30-2011 05:37 AM

Can rest easy then, Gman, to know you're here ;)

J/K aside, obviously much damage happened. Quick recovery to those affected. :peace:

Peace & Mungbeans

... and you... it doesn't matter where you are from, when innocent people are at risk, us humans with hearts have some feelings and do care about them (I only care a little bit) - maybe someone kicked in your heart years ago so it is damaged? - mine is damaged, but I still care a little :)

Sandy D 08-31-2011 12:42 PM

I survived the hurricane and no one cares.

Then again those in the NE got hit harder then us and we need to do whatever we can to send them help.

We donated to the Red Cross because many of those who are flooded out need food, clothing, blankets and baby items.

If you can donate to the Red Cross as they are doing some good things for those in need.

ovidiu 08-31-2011 01:54 PM

The hurricane wasn't even that big a deal; the flooding afterwards, especially in places like Vermont, was.

Didn't know you were in the NE, Sandy. Everything work out OK for you?

Sooner 08-31-2011 03:18 PM

My son is in the Navy and he rode out the storm on an aircraft carrier that had been moved to the Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA a few days before the storm hit. I'm thankful the storm wasn't any worse than it was. My heart goes out to those that lost loved ones and/or property during the storm (especially in Vermont).
