Let the games begin!! Amazon Is getting ready to open up an ACTUAL RETAIL STORE in Seattle within the next few months. Do you think they will succeed or fail? Never know, 1 day they might give WALMART a run for their money in the REAL WORLD, not to mention they have an Amazon cell phone coming out this year + the 10 inch tablet, Amazon is taking over just like Google.............
After reading the article, it looks as if Amazon is going down the same path as the Apple stores, selling their line of products instead of other goods, e.g ereaders/tablets, but only time will tell if/when they'll start to branch out into selling "everything" in the real world.
I personally think amazon could be really successful with their retail stores. Their name is so big there is no way the store would not attract customers or not make profit.
If i was ever to walk down a street and see an amazon store i would definitely walk in. I probably would not buy anything, but think of all the people out there who just buy things just to buy them.
I don't see them being successful in selling their own line of products though. Tablets, phones????? I would not buy it. But i could actually see them being the next walmart.
the thing that makes amazon so profitable tho is very little overhead. they are able to buy huge amounts of items a cheap prices and then warehouse it. then pay people very little to box it up and ship it out. and of course screw some small sellers out of their money doesnt hurt either
opening a retail location sounds good in theory until the bills start coming in

The kindle has been selling well for a very long time, just didn't know that they were moving a million units per week, the new kindle fire did well too, this year they plan on releasing the amazon cell phone, and 10 inch version of the kindle fire. This year should be good...........
