rsot 03-06-2012 07:09 AM

Enjoy watching the Olympics - quite a few of the sports.

As for this quote from GTB:

anyone else here gonna be shouting & screaming at the telly when its on?

Don`t think I`ll be doing that so much ha

GreenBean 03-06-2012 07:19 AM

Guess after 1976 the Games would have sad memories:redface:

GTB 03-06-2012 07:47 AM

so rsot aint a big fan then

LOL

i think most ppl who watch a sport they enjoy and are patriotic shout and scream at the telly rsot

well us proud Brits do anyway:dance:

FandangoKango 03-06-2012 08:37 AM

Not a fan myself.

GTB 03-06-2012 08:52 AM

what sports do you like then fandango is any?

JJGold 03-06-2012 09:03 AM

I'm a huge Olympics fan. I only wish I was back living in London.

GTB 03-06-2012 09:08 AM

bah i aint going to London mate

i am watching it on telly:)

it will be a good atmosphere down there but hey

you cant have everything

rsot 03-06-2012 11:27 AM

Actually I love the track events - sprint, intermediate distance - and field events of pole vault, discus, and hammer toss. Soccer is somewhat fun. The sprint swims are also solid.

I watch but not super passionate. It will be a good atmosphere. Ha GB - you and 1976 reference...

As for Canada, we do better at the Winter Olympics so...yeah I prob get more passionate then even though I love the summer times.

GTB 03-06-2012 12:47 PM

track events are the daddy

swim sprints too

after the last Olympics i started to follow track cycling

Formula 1 should be an Olympic sport too

rsot 03-06-2012 01:00 PM

I would tend to disagree with F1 being an Olympic sport due to its high scale and the nature/style of the Olympics.

GTB 03-06-2012 01:03 PM

very true

it just wouldn't work

you could have some kind of motor racing as an event and have time trials etc

unkown5454 03-06-2012 04:36 PM

Streets of London = 24/7 F1.

SUVE 03-06-2012 06:18 PM

GTB, I have been asked by a very large firm to run a 15 man team at the Stratford site & anywhere else where need be. ;)

GTB 03-06-2012 07:03 PM

doing what,building,security?

SUVE 03-06-2012 07:29 PM

Security.....XYZ called me up; it is nice to have been called out of the blue & directly be asked without having applied for the role/position. It would appear that they had kept my details on file from another business unit involving the Westfield Shopping complex in London. :humble:

This is the second time they have called me & asked me directly without me specifically applying for the role in question - the other time being some concert venues in neighboring counties. It is a nice ego boost I admit !:p

I have not said yes, they have given me until May to apply - I have other things in the pipeline.;)

GTB 03-07-2012 06:05 AM

ego boost lol

aye lad you must of done something right

nice one man so are you going to take the job then

whats these other things,ebay?

or something else

SUVE 03-07-2012 06:59 AM

Well, I have ANOTHER firm also asking me....I guess I may well reply to them as well out of professional courtesy.;)

Yes, I guess I must have! I have the experience, at some of the biggest venues out here & I have a few other security graded qualifications to hand. Plus a clean 5 year track record with numerous professional references backdating 5 years + as well.

Yes - EB/PP you have got that one straight up right!

GTB 03-07-2012 07:02 AM

always reply out of decency even if your not taking the job

good luck with the ebay/paypal

rsot 03-07-2012 01:07 PM

SUaVe - seems liek you might have some nice hookups for the Olympics then.

teedon 03-08-2012 11:47 AM

RSOT, I would appear to have had potential hooks ups anyhow by default as I used to work across numerous large scale venues across most days of the week.;)

MM78 03-09-2012 12:02 AM

I went to the UK about 8 Years ago and it was awesome. Loved the Beer and the Women :sly:. Go Mexico in the Olympics.
