Default What are you getting your mum for Mother's Day?

I think if i buy my mum flowers and chocolates again for the 100th year running, she will finally put me up for adoption (which she has been threatening to do for years! ) but what can you buy your mum to show her that you love her? vouchers? no, because that just says that you couldnt be bothered to think of a present. take her out for a meal? no. because that is what everyone does. Arrrgh! Mums!!!!

Personally I think it's a stupid day since your only showing love for that one day when you can show it everyday of the year really, but it would be rude not to celebrate it.

What you people getting? I want to steal your ideas basically!

Although you should definitely get her something, I don't think that one gift a year matters much. Sure, she will appreciate the thought. But, much more important, IMHO, is to be nice all year around.

Yes, it can be difficult when you have a family, especially kids. But too many people put it off, or they think a $100 flower bouquet makes up for ignoring Mom all year. It doesn't.

Take her out for a really nice meal and give her your time - so much nicer than flowers and sweets - and mums are only here for so long - I lost mine last Decamber so I wont be giving her anything this year - I wish I had tried harder when I had the opportunity

TIME & A new handbag & blazer - she's a clothes addict!

Find out her skin care brand & buy her a set of those products - if they dont have a good set available, make your own - buy lots of the products & buy a pretty box/case to hold them.

I did this once & she loved it!

While I like the idea of something more meaningful, get her something more lasting I would say.

I can only call her since she lives 20k miles away. Presents? She's like me, we prefer liquid assets.

I bought my Mom a eReader, and already gave it to her so she can already start enjoying it. PLUS: I filled it up with eBooks by her favorite authors.

She LOVES it! :D

My problem is my Mother saves everything and never uses them, so this year I decided to do what I did 2 years ago. I had a picture of my Grandfather when he was in the Military restored and framed. I'm having a picture my mom took when she was a teenager behind my Grandmothers back and I am going to have that restored also.

Costco does this type of service for like $40, sounds like a good price.
