Home Depot Store Takes PayPal

I went into the home depot store today, during check out, at the terminal. i had the option to pay with paypal. Thought that was pretty cool.

What option with paypal?

Debit, credit card or you could give them your email address and transfer them money online???

Yup. Unfortunately

Ugh - no wonder the scamming phishing e-mails will go up.

Sneakee 03-23-2012 12:00 AM

Can't put my finger on it but that scares me for some reason.

What do you guys mean by more scams? Are you saying buyers will be scamming the stores? Please explain.

download3000 03-23-2012 01:06 AM

Use funds to launder money...hmmmm:amen:

OfficialGenius 03-24-2012 07:47 AM

This may be good to clear out the entire balance paypal account if you don't want to risk getting limited by constantly withdrawing to a bank, etc...

And then simply return back the home depot items for a full cash refund? Hmmm... I wonder what's the return policy

''MORE RETAILERS COMING SOON

We have big plans for in-store checkout. Soon you'll be able to use PayPal anywhere you shop—online, on your phone, and now at the register.'' (paypal.com/anywhere)

I like the idea, only thing though is clearing out a stealth in person is kind of not stealth...

Red X 03-24-2012 06:35 PM

Am I the only person laughing at the music in that video?

I think you are all missing the very important point that in order to pay at the register using PP you will need wither a PP debit card (SSN required) or you need to register with PP Mobile (1 smartphone required per account).

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not doing either of those. Unless PP Mobile is really easy to sign up for.... which I don't think it is.

What info did they ask for?

Gman91189 03-25-2012 01:04 AM

Not, much, confirmation number they send a text I believe, been a while but I def remember wasn't any personal information or anything just a few clicks and ure good to go.

I do also wonder what the refund policy would be, lets say I buy 2000 dollars worth of "home repairs" and btw that's not even lot as I'm sure we all know how expensive remodiling ur kitchen can be...
And a couple days later I need to return the items because it didn't match my eyes and it creates a bad energy causing me to die... I wonder if i could get the cash.....
I don't think I have it here in my location, I know its only CERTAIN Home depots....
Would be nice, I don't know, if the OP could go to their local Home Depot and ask a few questions about how this works... btw. I would recommend using ur legit real pp account just buy some screws or something and try to return it and see how that works... or just ask an employee and keep us updated??
Could be a GREAT way to withdraw money...well kinda, obviously u would have to be Mike Tyson at location A and tiger woods at location B. Specially if u were to do this often :ballchain:

We need to find out the return policy for doing this, I'm very curious. But hmm... where to start?

I'm pretty sure you can only have 1 account per phone. Having multiple accounts per phone sounds like a disaster.

I've lost accounts in the past by logging in to the PayPal Mobile App on the same phone.

Phones don't have IP's, but are instead ID'd by their phone number. I am a little curious if you could use another service to receive text messages (Gvoice) and if that would work. In the video it says you don't need your phone, which means you only need to set it up once for it to work.

Their policy on returns is usually:
Without receipt, you get thecredit on a HD gift card
With receipt, you get it returned to your CC or debit card
