It was a shame that I'll Have Another got scratched, but he'll be happy spending the rest of his life as a stud. His scratch also opened a lot of possibilities. Happy to say that my Trifecta Box hit nicely!! 3-4-9! $248 for every $1 bet!!! Very nice payout. | 2 past post bets in 1 thread, really? :nono: Let me guess, you parplayed that with Monica winning the French Open. |

Which one the horse or the man? |
As a follow-up - was sad for the horse and rider that they were forced to withdraw on the day of the Belmont Stakes. Would have been nice to see a shot for the Triple Crown (not achieved since 1978 with Secretariat if I recall correctly). |

Seattle Slew won it in 1977
Affirmed won it is 1978,,,NONE have won it since,,,
as a Side note Affirmed was part of One of the greatest rivalries in racing history if not THE greatest rivalary against a Horse named Alydar |
Affirm - right - thanks for the clarification slapped - I knew I was off.
And you, slapped, of course was the owner of Alydar.../nod |

Oh,,How I wish,,,,The ONE Area where Alydar TROUNCED Affirmed was Studding,,,Alydar, because of his Overall Superior Breeding woud get $100,000 as a Stud fee (An ENORMOUS amount back then), Affirmed would get about the Same , but the Demand for Alydar was UNMATCHED,,,
Alydar died (Put to Sleep) after suffering a VERY suspicious broken leg in 1990 Alydar |
What got you interested in horse racing slapped? |

In a Nutshell,,,Secretariat,,,I was VERY Young, ( At that time I was getting "Slapped" by My Mother Not Ebay),,But I remember Like it was Yesterday how it seemed that the WHOLE world was ONLY Talking about 2 Things,,First: ALI vs FRAZIER and SECRETARIAT,,,,Here in NY On TV,,Newspapers (Remember Those),,at the Dinner Table, In School, on Street Corners,,all you heard about was those 2 things,,Oh and Latter on that year,,,The METS |
I have never betted on horseracing yet - I should try for some fun but has not been on my list to do even though some friends have. I bet on other things shrug.
Horses are beautiful - would love to own one someday just to ride and take care of...
As for slapped - and so from there you kept following horses eh? Ok.
Speaking of "studding", I know you get paid quite a bit to "stud" ha | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:06 PM. | |
