Perhaps thats on .Com - still the same on UK one.
On co.uk
I see the buy it now button has a little background box around it - same with add to basket button.
I hope buyers think it looks like candy and buy more items.

I hate change :(
I am used to one type of eBay and they change the layout. The layout does have some significance though, they want to increase the time customers spend on their website, maybe it'll help.
