What idiots. Even if it was not for all the security in a casino AND all the cameras recording everything, all of the newer gambling chips have RFID built into them and the casino can track their movements pretty accurately. As soon as they tried to cash in one of those chips, they would have been arrested.
Not to mention, that is just the technology that we KNOW about. I would imagine a higer-end casino, such as they have at the Bellagio, would be on the cutting edge of security.
Just to add: RFID only works in range of a sensor. But the casinos have computer programs keeping track of the chips at the tables. So, it would be a simple matter, if chips were missing, to determine which chips were at the table when the incident occurred and then validate the remaining chips, giving them a list of the stolen (missing) chips.
