As you celebrate this holiday with family, BBQs & thoughts of happiness, please take a silent minute to thank each and every member of any countries Armed Forces that stood to protect your rights to Freedom. Never forget the courage of anyone that stood to protect you. Where you know of someone that made the supreme sacrifice, offer a quiet prayer of thanks.
Without those soldiers there would be no freedom.

Memorial Day?
this is like a USA holiday isnt it, similar to Australias ANZAC day ?

At first it was called Decoration Day and started as far back as the American Civil War.The celebration was created to honor service personnel who perished during war.
ANZAC is more a commemoration of the battle at Gallipoli in 1915 and the creation of the bond between Australian & New Zealand soldiers that make up the Anzac Legend that exists still today. For ANZAC, we tend to forget that the actual battle was lost but the courage of the troops lived on and lead to eventual victory in 1918.

Its a holiday in America to give respects to people who served and died in the Armed Forces. Everything is closed here this day. Almost everything.
