pretty limited. most likely a beta, since a majority of googles ideas are a bust initially.

Cable companies will kill it. They want to charge per MB and they have to keep speeds slower to justify ther higher charges. Their story is that bandwidth is a finite resource and there is just so much of it to go around, so they have to start charging more.

This service is only for Kansas city and might not hit other locations. The best part is that there is a free service of 5mb down and 1mb up, just pay the install fee of $300 but they will let you split it up for 12 installments of $25/month. This free service is guaranteed to stay free for 7 years.

I have been keeping tabs on this for over 1 year now when cities where fighting for Google to bring this to their cities.

If you live in Kansas city you need to register on Google for this service, to register costs $10. The area with the most registration will get the service first. Google is starting fiber service in 3 steps through out Kansas city.

I live in Vegas and I will never see this coming to Vegas. I would love to get the free service. 5mb down and 1 up, free for 7 years, just pay the install fee. You are only going to pay $3.57/month for the entire 7 years (averaged out).

I can ditch Clear with it's 1.5mb down and 500kps up in a sec. It would save me $41.43 each month.

No Google for me too. :(

1GB speed. That is amazing fast. I usually download movies at like 4-5mb... I could only image how fast 50mb or such would be.

Canada - fail at the moment on that :(

Just hope they let you change ips or its not worth it at all.
