Interesting.....still reading & poring through this.
EDITS:
OK, read it.....hmm, their bark is worse than their bite.
Unenforceable & impracticable.
:juggle: |
| slim jim | 10-04-2012 04:27 PM | Suve the crazy thing is up to now wiley has won |
It will be difficult to enforce any favorable decision to wiley & it would no doubt be heavily challenged on all fronts to reverse any such decision in the long run.
It would face mass opposition.
It won't work. |
| bansheezone | 10-04-2012 05:07 PM | I posted this as news, not political. "Unenforceable & impracticable" I do agree, not will will not be surprised if it leads to other things. |
Yes, I agree with you, this is a news article, not political at all.
:pop2: |
It's crazy how International Edition of books are like 40-50% cheaper than Domestic Editions but they force teachers to use newer and newer Editions to milk us the Students for everything we have...which isn't a lot.
One of my Teachers said, "We ain't using a book, why? Because they aren't paying a dime to use it so were not gonna use". |
| baloch | 10-04-2012 06:04 PM | Most of my professor's at University used to tell us "you do not need the textbooks as most of the stuff will be in powerpoints." or "We will be using free articles, journal entries to study from." My favourite was that previous text book versions were acceptable. Quote:

| bansheezone | 10-04-2012 06:33 PM | This could be much bigger then books, hope you guys see the big picture here within that article. |
| slim jim | 10-04-2012 06:38 PM | guys, ANYTHING can happen in this world. i wish certain things didn't happen because they were too insane but that is the world we live in. without putting up a fight there will be no way of holding things like this back however it seems that most have lost their fight, they just dont care |
| bansheezone | 10-04-2012 07:23 PM | People have no care till it effects them, this is bigger then most will believe and if corps figure out they can get away with it everyone will feel the pain. |
| GreenBean | 10-04-2012 07:29 PM | The big Corporations ARE getting away with stuff now.
Do not think otherwise.
One need only look at using ebay as a selling platform to find the evidence of hypocrisy.
Since Man left the Garden of Eden, there has alway been divison.
Those that have.
Those that have not.

| bansheezone | 10-04-2012 07:41 PM | Then you have to factor in the natural balance of life. Both parties will pay by not respecting this balance. I am waiting patiently for this people to wake up :ranger: |
| slim jim | 10-05-2012 08:10 AM | sadly most will not wake up because it means they will have to form their own opinion.
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." Thomas Jefferson |
| slim jim | 10-05-2012 08:10 AM | btw this goes for a lot more people than just Americans |
| bansheezone | 10-06-2012 06:03 PM | |
| norma | 10-06-2012 06:14 PM | Hmmm, 90% of the materials used to build my home came from overseas..... |
| bansheezone | 10-06-2012 06:57 PM | Its a big mess to sort through if they rule in favor. |
| BigCJ | 10-06-2012 07:25 PM | Could you imagine the uprising if it did pass?
There is no way in hell that 400+ million americans would settle for this...Selling will just become a black market for anything and everything.
Ugh, its never a problem unless the government isn't making money. |
| slim jim | 10-06-2012 09:52 PM | These last few months of 2012 will have a big effect on the future in many ways |
| bansheezone | 10-06-2012 10:43 PM | Slim you know the deal, things are scary but it is what it is. :boink: |
| slim jim | 10-06-2012 11:08 PM | Banshee in my opinion whether people realize it or not the people will prevail! |
| GreenBean | 10-06-2012 11:27 PM | :focus:
Stay on topic.
What are YOU going to do about selling online? |
| slapped | 10-07-2012 12:32 AM | Corporations have been railing against the First sale Doctrine since the inception of the internet, they have always maintained that the allowing the current practice to continue in the Modern age would be EXTREMELY determental.
It is kind of the same argument that the MPAA Industry makes against torrent sites, yet year after year these same companies who are doing all this crying, consistantly report Record Profits, it makes you wonder just where will corporate greed end? | | All times are GMT -5.
