GreenBean 10-30-2012 08:08 PM

For lousy reception and less than stellar customer service.

Is this ebay?

Total rip off

:pound:

download3000 10-30-2012 09:40 PM

:lol: 500mb? wow cant even watch a full lenth movie with that lol. Here in the US we have a pre paid plan from t mobile no contract $30 4g you get 5gb+100min/unlimited TEXT am getting 12-32mb speeds :peace:

yotano211 10-31-2012 02:43 AM

With Virgin Mobile, you can get unlimited with no throttling (f⊗ke) 4g but with wimax, not LTE. Speeds are from 6mb-10mb.

You will have to root the phone, erase the phone's OS and install a custom ROM. They say after 2.5Gb they throttle you services, hahaha, I am still going full throttle after 300gb of downloading.

moneyhustler88 11-01-2012 04:21 PM

wow man 4g is hyped..overpriced

derbydave 11-01-2012 04:49 PM

you have to remember that they're the only people offering this service at the moment, so their prices are extortionate and their limits are low. bit like ebay really. if you're the only people selling a certain product, and people want it badly, you're going to charge a premium.

GreenBean 11-01-2012 04:53 PM

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Certain parts of the North West UK have little to no signal with this new EE 4g.

Pointless to purchase.

Are you referring to a mobile broadband card (USB Dongle) or for your cell phone. Either way 500 MB for 36 pounds is extremely high but it will be wallet suicide after you start incurring those overages. You can use 500mb in an hour if you are not careful. Only ever sign up for a plan that is unlimited.

Also don't be fooled by the marketing term 4G. Their is no actual standard for what 4G constitutes as all it means is 4th generation. In the US it ranges from HSPDA+, which is barely faster then most 3G services to Wimax (justifiably faster then 3G) all the way to LTE which is very fast for a mobile connection.

sax4 11-01-2012 08:04 PM

Well its for mobile and dongle.

I cannot believe EE are encouraging people to watch movies "on the go" one movie at 32 quid?

Any brain endowed person would download at home then watch.

There will always be money to be made with stupid people.

unkown5454 11-02-2012 12:17 AM

Relax everyone. It's the first LTE provider in your region. Of course they will get retarded with the pricing. All they need is one competitor to come through and knock them back down to reality. The same crap happens any time a new type of cell service is introduced.

if you're watching it through their service it doesn't count towards your data allowance

sax4 11-02-2012 06:58 AM

Ok I bet that isn't cheap either

moneyhustler88 11-02-2012 10:46 AM

the prices for 4G will come down as more suppliers provide it, so just best to wait..a mean people who take out these 2 year contracts for it now, really have no brain IMO because in 1 year i bet it'll be half the price on half the packages offered now, the mobile phone industry is constantly changing and competitive believe me:deadhorse:

sax4 11-02-2012 10:54 AM

For me to consider, it would have to be unlimited for max 25 quid per month. Be a few years before we see that!

moneyhustler88 11-02-2012 03:35 PM

I think next year sax you'll see that..you have to remember we're in a recession and people already think the VAT increase on phones/contracts is enough

derbydave 11-03-2012 07:05 AM

you'll never get unlimited 4G contracts for a measly 25 quid a month! you don't even get proper unlimited 3G for that sort of money. you have to remember that there's barely any competition for a start......how many mobile operators are there? EE (orange & T mobile), vodaphone, 02, 3. that's about your lot. the rest (tesco, virgin, giffgaff etc) are MVNO's and rely on the other 4 for their services. Only Virgin could shake things up by piggy-backing on their cable network.

Elijah 11-03-2012 08:33 AM

They have billboads and posters for this literally all over London... with silly slogans such as "Quickadilly Circus" (a play on words of Piccadilly Circus in the West End of London...) and "OM4G". I then checked the price/data allowance and almost choked on my own saliva.

sax4 11-03-2012 08:48 AM

I'll be sticking with 3g for the foreseeable future.

In the country I spend much of my time in I spend 8 quid a month and get 10gb usage

Elijah 11-03-2012 08:52 AM

Same here... I get unlimited 3G internet with my phone's contract so the cost really is minimal. And that does me just fine.

rsot 11-03-2012 09:08 AM

Sounds pricey indeed.

rsot 11-03-2012 09:09 AM

sax4 hope you didnt buy shares in the company ha.
